Step into the NHS competition for key stage 2
The Step into the NHS primary schools' teaching resources and competition are designed to open pupils’ eyes and minds to the wide range of career opportunities in the NHS and help challenge gender stereotyping.
The resources have strong links to the Department for Education's careers strategy and can be used as part of the key stage 2 curriculum.
What’s it all about?
It’s never too early to get young people thinking about their career and these exciting resources and competition allow teachers to take their pupils on a progressive learning journey.
The resources raise pupils' aspirations and challenge gender stereotyping by helping them learn about themselves and explore the wide range of careers available in the NHS.
After working through the resources, pupils in years 3 - 6 are encouraged to create a piece of artwork or creative writing showing the diversity of NHS roles and have the chance to have their entry displayed in public and win a £25 or £50 Amazon voucher, an exciting goody bag and a prize for their school.
